Predictive Insights
Predictive Insights reveal the patterns shaping your workforce, the kind that rarely surface through day-to-day activity alone. They draw on the full context of your organization to show where retention risk is forming, what it may cost, and where attention will matter most.
These insights span churn risk, the quantified financial impact of retention, the operational factors influencing your teams, and the action most likely to move outcomes.
Predictive Insights are built to inform the decisions you and your leaders are already making. They sharpen what you observe across the workspace, from organizational structure to the everyday rhythms of your teams. For that broader observational context, see Culture Studio.
Accessing Predictive Insights
Open Predictive Insights from the Insights section in the main navigation.
The Insights page provides a unified view of workforce health across your Organization, bringing together key predictive indicators in one place. From there, you can explore individual employees, roles, and predictive trends in more detail.

What Predictive Insights illuminate
Predictive Insights give leaders a forward view of their workforce. They show where momentum is building and where it is at risk, how sentiment and engagement are shifting across teams and roles, and where the cost of waiting outweighs the cost of acting. The result is a clearer sense of what is changing in your organization while there is still time to shape it.
What Signal Strength means
Signal Strength reflects how much context is available for each prediction. The richer the context, the more reliable the insight. Signal builds the moment your organization connects its core systems, strengthens as more context flows in, and deepens as that context grows over time.
Signal Strength is based on three sources of workforce context:
Public labor-market context
Based on each member’s role and tenure, it helps the model understand how a person’s position compares to the wider job market. This signal is strongest when employee profiles include a job title and start date.
Behavioral signals from how members use MustardHub
Employee recognition, peer giving, rewards, and survey participation over the last 90 days help strengthen this signal.

Structured employee context from your connected systems
Role history, tenure, and hiring data strengthen this signal when HRIS and ATS integrations are connected.
As more workforce context becomes available, Signal Strength increases and Predictive Insights become more reliable. Connecting your HR and hiring systems provides deeper organizational context, while employee participation through recognition, surveys, and other MustardHub activities strengthens behavioral signals over time.
For partners who enable the engagement platform within their white label, participation signals such as recognition and survey activity feed the behavioral models as well, adding a further dimension.
What Predictive Insights cover
Predictive Insights span the signals that matter most to retention and workforce health. They quantify churn risk across individuals and teams and roll it into a Risk Index that prioritizes where attention is needed.
Risk Index is a summary score that combines multiple predictive signals into a single indicator of retention risk. It helps prioritize where attention may be needed first. Higher values suggest higher overall risk, while lower values indicate lower risk.
They translate that risk into financial terms, showing the real cost of losing, or keeping, the people who drive your organization. They surface the signals that point to readiness for greater responsibility and upward mobility, as well as recommended retention actions. Where the engagement platform is enabled, they also track how sentiment and engagement shift over time.
Selecting an employee opens a detailed prediction view with additional context, including Risk Index, Signal Strength, risk trajectory, and supporting indicators.

How insights deepen over time
Predictive Insights grow sharper as your organization grows with them. The more transactional and historical context the system can access, the richer the signal and the stronger its predictive capabilities. Where the engagement platform is part of your white label, the system also learns how your teams participate, communicate, and recognize one another, building a fuller understanding of your specific environment. As that context compounds, signals grow clearer and steadier.
Actions you take feed back into the system and refine the patterns it sees. That loop is expected and healthy, and it makes every insight more attuned to how your organization actually works.
